Evaluation of Selected Forage Pearl Millet Germplasm for Yield and Yield Component Traits

The present study aimed to evaluate the productivity of pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum L.) genotypes select promising for fresh and dry forage yields its traits thirteen selected from forty eight genotypes. experiments grown in a randomized complete blocks design with three replications at Sids Agricultural Research Stations, 2021 2022 summer seasons.
 Studied showed highly significant different mean squares Analysis variance 13 Pearl revealed variation total yield whereas highest one was millet6 followed by population Shandawal 1 3 which had 85.5, 80.8 74.9 kg/plot, respectively. While, lowest were millet10 millet12 millet11 44.9,45.0 46.5 Also, values 6 shandawal 1and 12.2,11.1 9.6 Variance components combined that grand 58.6, (δ2p 385.9) and(δ2g 383.1) genetic advance 40.3. 7.37,11.25,11.16 6.88 mean, δ2p, δ2g advance, most discriminating environment genotype is due differences between δ2p. effects difference high. Heritability high 99.64 99.59,respectively. estimates increased when (G.C.V. %) P.C.V. % least values. results cleared variations all studied possibility used these improve during breeding program. indicated 6, best could be program yield, plant height, leaf stem percent.
